Why you should give squats a go!

 

I will begin by confidently stating that everybody should be including the squat exercise in their training routines. This is not to say that it must be in every program or every workout, but it should pop up every month or so.

The squat is an exercise that has been greatly misunderstood and undervalued overtime but it is the exercise that has the potential to provide breakthrough results. With correct and safe technique squats can boost your metabolism, improve your strength, help rehabilitate issues in the lower back and knees and many more benefits. It is an exercise that requires the use of most muscles in the body to some degree and therefore provides huge benefits for areas such as weight loss; which is a common goal you may have. For the more senior population here at Health Mates the squat has been shown to have great benefit for balance, coordination and falls prevention.

In my career so far I have had the opportunity to meet and discuss training with some of the best in the industry and regardless of any client goal the squat is always the go to exercise. So don’t lose the chance of seeing the results you have always wanted and give the squat a try.
